Unfortunate News

Posted on March 4, 2009October 9, 2016 by emiglia

I have some good news and some bad news… and they’re the same news.

Yesterday, I got an e-mail from the good folks over at Syngenta, the company that makes Kumatoes, letting me know that my site is a violation of their copyright on the term. This means I have to give them the URL, so if you click any old links, they will be redirected there.

The good news is that this is something I’ve sort of been wanting to do for awhile. The goal of my blog has moved from where it was more than two years ago, from a concentration on the fresh produce around my Long Island home to a mix of French and American (and other cuisines, for that matter) in Paris. I don’t watch those cooking contest shows very often, but when I do, they always seem to ask contestants to give a theme or goal for their style of cooking. I never really liked this idea before, but as I think about it, I realize that I’ve developped my own, which is why I’m happy to say that this blog and all its content will be moving to a new URL with a new name: Franglais in the Kitchen.

The landing page is still blank while I get my stuff together, but you can expect the move by the end of the week. I’m really excited about the new domain name, and I hope that you’ll keep coming by at my new home to say hi!

    Seed manufacturers really are scumbags…

By the way, I hope that they are at least paying the costs that you incurred in purchasing the original domain, since you did so in good faith. Handing it over doesn’t seem fair…

Um, the only Kumatoe I ever heard of was you!
