In short, this restaurant is a total gem, mastering from beginning to end a playful interchange of sweet and savory and a nostalgic, playful approach to fine dining fare.
Sugo is Making Pasta Like the Romans Do
The excellent food and very reasonable prices would be reason enough to recommend Sugo, but the genial service and cozy dining room push it over the edge. Plus, with great vegetarian options – and service every day (lunch only on Sundays), it’s the kind of go-to I’m sure I’ll be recommending and returning to time and again.
Café du Coin’s Pizzette Are Just the Beginning of What Makes this Neighborhood Staple So Great
It’d be easy to assume, given Café du Coin’s Instagram feed, that its pizzette are the backbone of the menu. And you wouldn’t be wrong. But you wouldn’t be totally right either.
Kodawari Ramen is Worth Queuing For
My hatred of waiting in lines has outweighed my love of ramen in getting me to Kodawari Ramen. Until now.
Le Saint-Sébastien is Still Marvelous Under Its New Chef
No matter how the team in the kitchen has changed, le Saint-Sébastien has remained true to itself: a restaurant where you can feel the love, where conviviality reigns, where clients are looked after, whether at a table or, in the case of yours truly, in their favorite seat at the bar.
Les Petits Parisiens is the Perfect Date Night Spot
A cozy bistronomic spot in a quiet corner of the 14th delivering great flavors and a convivial atmosphere.
Le Bistrot Paul-Bert Is Very Good – But I’m Not Sure It’s *That* Good
Le Bistrot Paul-Bert’s reputation precedes it… and for me, that’s part of the problem haunting this very good bistro.
Le Bistrot des Fables is Not My Favorite Bistro… But I’m Glad it Exists
Le Bistrot des Fables is not my favorite restaurant in Paris, but it does scratch an important itch. With its reasonable prices and copious – and possibly even excessive – portions of easy-to-love French classics without too many bells and whistles, it would be commendable no matter its location. But seeing as it’s just a few steps from the Eiffel Tower, it’s even easier to recommend this bistro.
Bobby Is the Place to Be for Pasta and Pizza in Paris
From the delicious food to the reasonable prices to the welcoming staff, I cannot recommend this Italian spot more highly, especially for vegetarians or those who need a night off from French food. Plus it’s open both Sundays and Mondays!
MOF Charcutier Arnaud Nicolas Knows So Much More than Pâté
If MOF charcutier Arnaud Nicolas only did charcuterie well, it would be reason enough to come to his 7th arrondissement restaurant. But that’s far from the case – and that’s why I love it.
