I went to the Salon des Gourmets at Porte de Versailles. It was much smaller than the Salon de l’Agriculture, but that didn’t stop me from making a little dent.

I brought the Country Boy this time; he was instrumental in choosing the six (6!) saucisson we brought home: duck, boar, pepper, cèpe and 2 of a pheasant one that we fell in love with.

The pepper was my favorite. I say was, because it is now gone.

We also saw a giant cheese that we were not allowed to touch…

Looked at some really beautiful things sculpted out of chocolate…

Saw a cheese-curl-making wheel that was used for making curls of chocolate instead…

And tasted a lot of jam.

We each chose one. TCB got cider, and I got Gamay wine. I don’t know yet what I’m going to eat it with, but something tells me foie gras might be involved. Either that or baked Brie. Too soon to tell.
