Monday Postcard from Tokyo

Posted on April 15, 2019April 15, 2019 by emiglia
1. I won’t have too much to show you from Tokyo, because unfortunately, I, the girl who is never sick, came down with a pretty nasty flu there and spent about three days in bed.

2. Luckily, the one day I was well, my brother and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and had a stroll through one of the central parks where, to our happy surprise, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.

Tokyo

3. The pink trees stood out in all their glory against the contrasting wintery backdrop.

Tokyo

4. And as a result of our being there in a sort of in-between stage, some blossoms were just beginning to bud…

Tokyo

5. … while others were in spectacular, technicolor bloom…

Tokyo

6. … and still others had already wilted and fallen to the ground.

Tokyo

7. Of course, there were other beautiful things to see in the park.

Tokyo

8. I love these varied hues encompassing greens, reds, and purples.

Tokyo

9. But my favorites were perhaps these blossoms growing directly on the tree trunks.

10. Bye, Sakura!
